Ringtailed Mongoose (galidia elegans)

I got real experimental with the art supplies. This was mostly done with watercolor paint and chalk. I used some pencil with the finer details. I wanted somethig unique and may have found a combination that I like. I like working with something messy an unwieldy that can't be erased or corrected. This was fun. Think this mix might be my "style" that I was looking for.

The character is based on the Ringtailed mongoose (galidia elegans) another animal from Madagascar, and not the last. The fur color is not imaginary. Look this species up, they are this brilliant deep red color.

The character is named Adnaan Qripon. He is a partollier (Think combination of police officer and mailman) in the city of New Ramoth in the District of Indigo Haven. This is a very difficult area because New Ramoth is a "city of refuge" modeled after Numbers Ch:35 in the Bible. The NOR confederation has exteded the meaning of this to include refugees an those seeking sanctuary in the NOR to escape persecution in their former home worlds. These are usually persons that have aided the NOR and have now been granted citizenship, or scientists and technicians who's work was rejected in there home world but was seen as valuable by the NOR. Sometimes the NOR will covertly evacuate large populations from worlds outside of the NOR confederation to these "havens" if they are being persecuted for their race, religion or species. New Ramoth is therefore a pandimensional melting pot of species and cultures from many different worlds. NOR Service Fleet members like Adnaan have to keep the peace and help these refugees adapt. 

Adnaan is a well recognized figure in his community. Partly because of his large conspicuous tail flapping around behind him as he rides his howler hover bike around on his patrol and deliver routes. Also because he goes out of his way to assist people with their problems. He is getting a bit burned out on how chaotic New Ramoth can be though and says he dose not want to live there when he retires.
